Feed-back from CRP’s director José Antoni Castro, CRP’s director, visited us and commented how glad they were that so many teachers participated throughout the Seminar. As for next year activities, he explained that the budget for training will go to nearly nothing. So there will be no money for trainers. Therefore, the Seminari and Grup de Treball formulas would be promoted. In the case of the English Seminar, he proposed to change it into a 15 hours activity: 10 devoted to meetings and 5 devoted to preparation of activities. Regarding Grups de Treball, they don’t need to have physical meetings, but can be organised online. J.A. Castro told us he would send us more information when he had it available, but that we should be thinking what our interests are for next year.
Evaluation of the Seminar In general, the Seminar was positively considered. Some of the good aspects mentioned were: - The interest of the spontaneous contributions. - There is a lack of meeting points for English teachers, and it fills up this gap. - Most English teachers work on their own at school and feel alone. It is a good feeling to share our reality with other teachers. - It has provided with new ideas to some of us. - The goal of practising English has not been attained: we went back to Catalan so easily...
Proposals for next year seminar We opened a list of proposals for next year, to which you can contribute at the wiki: - TAC resources for English teachers. - Video editing session. - PDI session. - Moodle session. - Activities for oral work with children. - CDs exchange - Proves de competències d'anglès. And how to motivate students to read and understand, and listening activities different from the usual ones.
Proposal for a Grup de Treball At this point there is a proposal to create a Grup de Treball for creating PDI materials. Please, contact us if you are interested in participating.
How to share materials? The easiest way is to upload information at the seminar wiki at http://seminariangles11-12.wikispaces.com/ If necessary, you can create a new page. However, if your material has too many files, then it would be better to use the Moodle at https://agora.xtec.cat/se-santmarti/moodle/login/index.php As only Mª Jesús and Àngels have got permits to add files, you should send first the materials to us, and we will upload them at the Moodle. Our emails are: mdelga23@xtec.cat and mmata28@xtec.cat Remember that to enter the moodle, your user name is the first part of your xtec email and the same for the password. Once you are in, you should go to your profile to change your password.
